What is Kartepe like?
Kartepe is a large district that rises from the flat land by the lake through forested mountain slopes to the summit area where the ski runs are. Neighbourhoods popular with holidaymakers, such as Maşukiye, Suadiye and Derbent, belong to this district. In winter the Kartepe ski centre is visited for skiing, snowboarding and snow fun. For the rest of the year, walking, ATV tours, horse riding and trips to the highland meadows take over. Hotels on the higher ground and bungalows on the slopes offer views of the lake.
